Environmental Consciousness

The first commitment period for greenhouse gas emissions reduction, which was set out in the Kyoto Protocol adopted at COP3, started in 2008.
Thus, considerations and responses to the environment are sought in a wide range of fields from business to personal life, as well as the world of conventions.
ICS has participated in creating guidelines for environment-conscious congresses, initiated by the Ministry of the Environment. The guidelines will be introduced in 2008 at the G8 Hokkaido Toyako Summit, etc. as the method for managing environmental-conscious international congresses. ICS continues to offer proposals for environment-friendly MICE as a leading company in this field.

Commitment to “Challenge 25”

As part of activities to raise the environmental awareness of our employees and to hold environment-friendly conventions, ICS is involved in the “Challenge 25” project. As part of this, ICS complies with “Cool Biz” in summer and “Warm Biz” in winter, and we kindly ask customers visiting us to respect this.

ICS has joined the challenge 25 project.

Environment-friendly Box Lunch

Under the environment-friendly theme, ICS proposes lunchboxes in environment-friendly containers.

To respond to environmental issues and the move toward a recycling society, ICS encourages its customers to use lunchboxes in environment-friendly containers at events or conventions. To convey the client’s environment-oriented concept, we can also print the name of the event or client on the paper boxes holding the containers (to be ordered separately) as an original feature, or an environment-focused message, for delivery to participants and people involved with the congress or event.

What is a biodegradable plastic tray that returns to nature?
  • This unique plastic is made using polylactate from lactic acid obtained by fermenting plant starch (amylum) or sugars.
  • It dissolves in water or carbonic dioxide in the soil by microbial action.
  • Since its combustion efficiency is high, it can be disposed of as burnable garbage that does not generate harmful substances.
  • In addition, paper boxes are environment-friendly containing more than 90% used paper and soybean ink of plant origin.
  • This environment-friendly commodity reduces the environmental burden, and can be procured by the national government and local governments under the Green Purchasing Law.
